Xbox Game Pass adds cult indie hit and JRPG spinoff

The April 2022 Xbox Game Pass games slate swells with great indie play, and the good times continue in May with a spin-off of a highly anticipated JRPG. Today, Bugsnax and Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising have been confirmed as additions to Microsoft’s subscription service, and they will be available on the console and PC versions of Game Pass.

Bugsnax arrives on April 28. If you missed the game between all the memes, it’s actually a version of Pokémon Snap – you have to solve the needs of various creatures in the desert in order to capture them. The April 28 launch coincides with the launch of The Isle of Bigsnax, a free expansion that adds “about three hours of new story and quest content.” according to the developersincluding the chance to meet the giant Bugsnax.

Then, on May 10, we’ll get Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising. This is a side-scrolling action-RPG, a spin-off of Suikoden’s spiritual successor set to launch in 2023. The action is interrupted by city-upgrading mechanics, so you can get some city builder flavor in your adventure.
