The second in a trio of games announced by 110 Industries as part of its Tokyo Game Show, Vengeance Is Mine is a mechanical fighting game that features time manipulation mechanics meant to add significant flair to encounters. The HYDRA mechanical suit allows the wearer to both speed up time (and therefore blink at an unsuspecting enemy) or go back in time to “readjust combos” and, more obviously, escape death. . Of course, the suit is also equipped with offensive equipment such as an energy-based projectile weapon capable of taking down enemies from a distance.
Sergei Kolobashkin, Founder and Creative Director of 110 Industries, said:
We’re excited to introduce people to the mechanical weather manipulation combat that we bring with Vengeance Is Mine. As we continue to work to bring the game to PS5, Xbox Series X | S, and PC, we’ll have a lot more exciting information to share, so keep your eyes peeled !.
The press release also includes information on the story of Vengeance Is Mine.
Players will step into the shoes of Gabriel Jaeger, brutally executed by three time travelers dating back to 1664 to obtain old technology that will allow them to operate the Deacon – an abandoned military installation buried beneath the streets of New Amsterdam. Charles Jaeger, now in full control of the deacon, gathers his flock to meet their spiritual leader Robert Wright beyond the horizon of space and time. His only problem is Gabriel. Barely making it out alive, Gabriel controls the prototype of the HYDRA mechanical suit and is ready to take his revenge.
Interestingly, 110 Industries also revealed that Dutch actress Stefanie Joosten (featured in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain as the Quiet character) will be working on Vengeance Is Mine as Creative Director and Wanted: Dead as director of kinematics.
