Switch Top Selling 111M, PS5 Top Selling 22M

    The Nintendo Switch was the best-selling console with 291,439 units sold for the week ending August 6, 2022, as estimated by VGChartz. The Switch has now sold around 111.24 million unit life.

    The PlayStation 5 sold around 229,951 units to bring its lifetime sales to 22.06 million units. The Xbox Series X | S sold 164,043 units to bring its lifetime sales to 16.24 million units.

    Sales of PS5 vs same week for PS4 in 2015 are up nearly 54,000 units, while Xbox Series X|S vs same week for Xbox One is up over 83 000 units. The PS4 sold 176,146 units for the week ending August 8, 2015, and Xbox One sales were 80,613 units.

    The PlayStation 4 sold for approximately 4,877 units, and Xbox One sold 420 units.

    Nintendo Switch sales compared to the same week a year ago are up 925 units (0.3%), while PlayStation 5 is up 14,781 (6.9%) and Xbox Series X|S is up 36,370 units (28.5%).

    PlayStation 4 is down 22,745 units (-82.3%) year over year and Xbox One is down 11,042 units (-96.3%).

    Looking at sales week over week, Nintendo Switch sales are flat, PlayStation 5 sales are down over 26,000 units, and Xbox Series X|S sales are down over 1,000 units.

    Since the start of 2022, Nintendo Switch has sold approximately 9.36 million units, PlayStation 5 has sold 5.08 million units, and Xbox Series X|S has sold 4.59 million. units.
