Swery’s The Good Life Finally Has A Release Date

After a delay earlier this year, Swery’s The Good Life finally has a release date. The new trailer above is breaking news and showing all the dog and cat antics you’ll be doing when The Good Life releases on October 15th.

From the very particular mind of Swery, director of Deadly Premonition and D4: Dark Dreams Don’t Die, The Good Life is apparently a much more colorful and light adventure through the English countryside. You play as Naomi Hayward, a New York photographer visiting the sleepy village of Rainy Woods. A mystery shopper has asked you to investigate some nefarious events, and since you are in massive debt, you are not in a position to turn them down. Things quickly get worse when you discover a corpse in the river with a sword stuck in its stomach.

Then there’s the fact that the citizens of Rainy Woods turn into cats or dogs overnight. It’s a Swery Game, all of you. Naomi will eventually get the chance to bark or meow through Rainy Woods, pissing on sidewalks and chasing mice. The new trailer also shows a glimpse of a few original characters, including a Sherlock Holmes type guy, a hippie woman named the Wood Witch, and sheep-faced aristocrats.

The Good Life naturally has great Hot Fuzz vibes, with Naomi striving to uncover the mysteries of this weirdly idyllic village. It’ll be on Steam, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One in October.
