They also revealed the next chapter of the Final Fantasy 7: Remake franchise, giving it the name Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth. According to Square Enix, this is the second installment in what they’re now calling a trilogy, and they’re already working on the final game. As of now, it’s slated for release next winter and will be exclusive to the PS5 when it releases.

Here is the reveal trailer of Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth:

Crisis team meeting is a bit of a surprise. Not because it was a bad game, but because of the lack of digital distribution appreciation it received. For some strange reason, it was never released digitally for the PS VITA or PS3/PS4, unlike many other PSP games. The only way to play it was to dust off the old PSP and hope it still worked. Maybe they were just waiting for the right time to release it…over 10 years later.

On the other hand, the announcement of Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth is not really a surprise. It was inevitable that the news of the second chapter of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake would surface. Gamers will just have to wait until winter of this year to get their hands on one of the new Final Fantasy seven Games.
