Square Enix’s big-budget title Marvel’s Avengers is getting a major addition to its superhero cast this month.

Marvel fan favorite, your friendly neighborhood superhero, Spider-Man will find his way into Marvel’s Avengers, it has been announced. But it will be exclusive to PlayStation owners of the game.

Developed by Crystal Dynamics, Marvel’s Avengers is available on Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S, PS4, PS5, and PC. But only the PlayStation versions of the game will see the addition of Spider-Man.

Patch 2.2 will launch with the PlayStation exclusive hero Spider-Man, but all versions of Marvel’s Avengers are expected to receive the new Klaw Raid. In addition, there are many other additions including new enemies, new outfits inspired by the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and cosmetics up for grabs. The update will launch on November 30.

Klaw Raid will see players assemble their best team of four to take on the sound monster Klaw. This follows the events of the War for Wakanda and now Klaw is back with a vengeance, intending to destroy the Black Panther homeland. Klaw Raid has players who take on the villain and finish him off (hopefully) and clamor for high-end gear.

For PlayStation owners, Spider-Man will switch to Marvel’s Avengers as a playable character in a Great Power Hero event. Players can experience part of Spider-Man’s story throughout the Avengers initiative with unique challenges to unlock.

Peter Parker teaming up with the Avengers to stop an impending tech threat, and forming an attempted friendship with Ms. Marvel and Black Widow while keeping his identity hidden, is the backstory of the new mission. “As a hero accustomed to working solo, he struggles with the new dynamic of teamwork. Will he join full time with the Avengers, or will he remain independent in his fight against AIM?” – is the Square Enix teaser.

The patch will include a host of tweaks. These include an increase in the power level so that the maximum power level that can be achieved in the game is increased from 150 to 175. There is an equipment upgrade that will allow players to retrain equipment to improve current equipment. There will also be weekly objectives per hero. A full list can be read here.
