The first official Pokemon Unite tournament will take place on September 9 in Japan.
It was only a matter of time before an official Pokemon Unite tournament took place, and it’s finally coming soon. According to Serebii, this tournament will be reserved for Japan and will take place on September 19. Registration for this tournament must be made through the official website.
The matches in this tournament are knockout, with the top four through the final matches being the best of the three. Up to 256 teams can participate, and they will perform the standard battle on the Remoat Stadium. There aren’t a lot of prerequisites to enter, but you must be able to write and speak Japanese and be over the age of 16. Anyone under the age of 20 must obtain permission from a legal guardian.
While this particular tournament is limited to Japan, the existence of the tournament is an indicator that we’ll likely see tournaments popping up in the west soon.
In other Pokemon Unite news, we recently saw Blastoise come into the picture and her outfit is… interesting. Halowear from Blastoise gives her a green blazer, a yellow pin and a boater hat. This Halowear costs 400 Aeos Gems in the Zirco Trading store.
Additionally, Pokemon Unite will reward its players to celebrate the achievement of 5 million pre-registrations. The prizes will be free tickets to the Pikachu Holowear and Aeos festival for anyone who downloads the game. The developers have stated that if Pokemon Unite reaches over 7.5 million pre-registrations, players will also receive 1,000 Aeos tickets.
