Developer Snapshot Games and publisher Prime Matter announced they will bring turn-based strategy Phoenix Point: Behemoth Edition on consoles in October.
The game originally launched on PC in 2019 and comes from the mind of X-COM creator Julian Gollop. You will protect Earth from a changing alien threat thanks to a secret organization known as the Phoenix Project. You will have to research and develop new technologies as you complete missions in a ravaged Earth as you face your ever-changing foe. If that wasn’t enough, you’ll also have to deal with the surviving factions, which each have their own agendas and motivations.
According to IGN, this new Behemoth Edition will include four DLC packs, including Blood and Titanium, Legacy of the Ancients, Festering Skies and the new expansion Corrupted Horizons. Naturally, you can also expect redesigned controller support and a console-specific user interface. Finally, you’ll also get a free upgrade to a next-gen enhanced version for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S, which is expected to arrive later after launch.
The game development studio Snapshot Games was acquired by the Embracer Group, parent company of publishing label Prime Matter, in November of last year.
You can check out a pair of trailers for the new console release, as well as the Corrupted Horizons DLC that will land on PC on the same day, below. Phoenix Point: Behemoth Edition will launch on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on October 1, 2021.
