Today, Bandai Namco announced a new Mobile Suit Gundam Game. It’s called Evolution of Gundam, but honestly, Gundam monitoring Would have been better.

Of course, Bandai Namco cannot name it that, because Monitoring is owned by Blizzard. But Evolution of Gundam certainly looks like Gundam meets Monitoring, because the developers of the game seem to be big fans of the game.

Take a look at the first trailer below:

Well, what do you think?

According to Game Watch Impress, the game is a first-person shooter but with the franchise’s signature mobile suit. It will have six out of six online matches and will take advantage of Gundam’s boost system. The game should be a lot of fun.

So much about Gundam: Evolution looks like Monitoring. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, and it’s interesting to see Gundam go in various directions, even though the influences are obvious and apparent. (In case you missed it, read Kotaku‘s Monitoring see again here.)

Last month, Kotaku reported that Bandai Namco had an array of big plans for Gundam, including developing a new esports game. You must be wondering, is this the game? At the time, Bandai Namco announced that a new game was “coming soon”. It’s soon !

Gundam: Evolution is free to play and is intended for the PC. It is planned to launch it in different regions of the world. Before service begins, a closed beta test will begin next month.

Starting today in Japan, the game will begin registration for the closed beta test, with the goal of bringing together 5,000 players. More information is available on the newly launched official website for residents of Japan interested in participating. At the time of writing, no concrete information has yet been announced on exactly where the game will launch. Expect more details in the weeks and months to come.
