Georgia State @ Louisiana
Current records: Georgia State 4-4; Louisiana 7-1
What there is to know
The Georgia State Panthers and Louisiana Ragin ‘Cajuns will face off in a Sun Belt clash at 7:30 p.m. ET on November 4 at Cajun Field. Both teams enter the match strengthened by victories in their previous matches.
Georgia State won a 21-14 victory over the South Georgia Eagles on Saturday. The Panthers’ success was driven by the efforts of RB Tucker Gregg, who scored two rushing touchdowns, and CB Jamyest Williams, who scored one rushing touchdown. Georgia State’s victory came on a 23-yard drive from Williams with just 0:32 left in the fourth quarter.
Meanwhile, Louisiana kept their clean sheet against the Texas State Bobcats on Saturday and won the game 45 to zero. The game was almost over by the end of the third, by which time Louisiana had established a 35-to-nothing advantage. Louisiana QB Levi Lewis threw it in as he had three touchdowns and 229 yards on 33 attempts.
The special teams collected 13 points for Louisiana. K Nate Snyder delivered a perfect 3v3 game.
The victories took the Panthers to 4-4 and the Ragin ‘Cajuns to 7-1. Two defensive stats to keep in mind as you watch: Georgia State stumbles in the game with the 232nd most TDs allowed in the country, after allowing 15 this season. The Louisians have had an even more difficult time: they are 197th worst in the country in number of touchdowns allowed, with 11 this season. It’s possible that one of those Achilles heels will end up tripping the losing team.
