Klay Thompson’s Potential Warriors Ticket Prices Return to $ 14,000

Warriors goaltender Klay Thompson could return to the field on Sunday after more than two years of absence due to injury. For Warriors fans, the anticipation is high.

Ticket prices too.

On Tuesday night, two-ticket bundles for Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers at Chase Center were available on Ticketmaster for between $ 276 and $ 14,308 per ticket, depending on the arena section.

For comparison, a set of two tickets to the Warriors’ home game against the Utah Jazz on January 23 was listed on Ticketmaster for between $ 160 and $ 10,430 per ticket.

For Sunday, Ticketmaster prices for a single ticket started at $ 271 and hit $ 2,504. For a group of four, ticket prices ranged from $ 315 to $ 7,952 per ticket.

Ticketmaster is an official ticket seller for the Warriors.

Prices for Sunday’s game appeared to have risen since earlier today, when a Warriors fan tweeted that he had purchased tickets to the “cheapest Sunday seats” for $ 225 each, including fees.

Another basketball fan keen to see Thompson make a comeback was put off by the sky-high prices.

“* Google Chase Center ticket prices *”, he said. tweeted in meme format. “* Cries out in the poor *.”

Tickets for the Warriors are the most expensive in the NBA, according to an analysis by sports news site Sportsbuzz. The average ticket price this season is $ 589, up 29% from two years ago, according to Sportsbuzz.

Thompson, a five-time NBA All-Star, has been ruled out of injury since Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals. He tore his ACL in that game and then tore his Achilles tendon in November 2020 as he was preparing for a return to the field.

The Warriors and Cavaliers faced each other in four straight NBA Finals between 2015 and 2018, with the Warriors taking the lead in three of those four series.

In recent weeks, Thompson has traveled and played with his teammates. Warriors officials have said he will make his home comeback, which means that if he’s not ready to play by Sunday, he will most likely return on Jan. 18 against the Detroit Pistons.
