Ghost of Tsushima Sequel – Ghost of Ikishima in development

The stunning Ghost of Tsushima was one of the best PS4 exclusives of 2020 and it looks like a sequel is in development – titled Ghost of Ikishima. As you can see from our Ghost of Tsushima review, we really liked it. So, naturally, we are very excited about this sequel. The news was first leaked by industry insider Shpeshal_Nick and another official, Resetera user KatharsisT, also confirmed it. Of course, all of this could end up being just baseless rumors. However, a Ghost of Tsushima sequel isn’t that far-fetched and will likely happen sooner or later, even if it turns out to be wrong. With that said, let’s see what the rumors are saying about Ghost of Ikishima.

What is the ghost of Ikishima

From everything that has been discussed so far, it looks like this will be a standalone Spider-Man: Miles Morales style expansion. So, you can expect a shorter playing time compared to the original, as well as a likely new protagonist. The name refers to the Iki Archipelago in the Tsushima Strait. These islands were ravaged during the Mongol invasions of Japan, so it makes sense that they would be used in this mini-sequel as well. However, the bigger question so far is which platforms the game will release on. While Sony still has few PlayStation 5 exclusives, fans believe it will most likely be released over several generations. Of course, this will almost certainly be another PlayStation exclusive. Horizon: Forbidden West and the unnamed sequel to God of War will also be released on PS4 and PS5 systems.

The leak also mentions that the game will be released this year. If this is the case, we can expect official confirmation soon. We will post more Ghost of Ikishima news as more information becomes available.
