BIG RAPIDS — For the third time in program history, the Ferris State University women’s soccer team has officially received a bid for the NCAA tournament as the announcement of this year’s tournament field has been made. during an online selection show on Monday evening.

The Bulldogs will be the sixth seed in the Midwest Regional and will face third seed Ashland in the sub-region this Thursday, November 10 in Cedarville, Ohio. The contest is scheduled for a 3 p.m. start.

This weekend, Cedarville will host one of two four-team regions in the Midwest, along with the nationally highest-ranked Grand Valley State, as both schools were chosen to host the first and second-tier tournaments. second turn.

FSU takes on UA ​​in the first round on Thursday, with second-seeded host Cedarville meeting seventh-seeded McKendree (Illinois) in the other first-round game at Cedarville Regional starting at 6 p.m. The winners will play in the second round. Saturdays in Ohio from 3 p.m.

Ferris State will be making its third NCAA Tournament bid, including a second straight appearance. It’s the first time in school history that FSU has advanced to the national tournament in back-to-back seasons, with the school’s first and only previous berth prior to the past two years coming in 2018.

Ferris State, which is coached by Greg Henson, is currently 10-5-5 overall this campaign and compiled a 7-2-5 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game this year. The Bulldogs reached the conference tournament for the 13th straight year this season.

The NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer Committee has announced the 56-team roster for the 2022 NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer Championship.

The two finalists from each sub-region will advance to the third and quarter-final competition which will be played on November 17 or 18, followed by November 19 or 20.
