Bethesda has big plans for Fallout 76: Steel Reign, including the final chapter in the Brotherhood of Steel story.
Based on what has been shared so far, players can look forward to new quests and a new Legendary crafting system, which will allow fans to transform normal weapons, armor, and power armor, into legendary items.
Much of this will be Legendary Cores, which you’ll use with Legendary Mods to make changes to your items.
Legendary Cores can be earned by completing Seasonal Events, Public Events, and Daily Operations.
Bethesda has also confirmed that Wasteland Survivors will upgrade Power Armor Pieces by visiting Power Armor Stations.
While legendary crafting is a big part of Steel Reign, there will be aspects of the story and quests to be discovered, with Bethesda telling fans:
“In Steel Dawn, we met members of the Brotherhood of Steel’s Appalachian chapter. During our trip, we discovered that some members had disagreements over how the Appalachian Chapter should be handled.
“In an exciting conclusion, all disagreements had to be put aside in order to team up against a common enemy.
“However, the question of how to deal with the Appalachian chapter remains and cannot be ignored. Your choices in Steel Dawn will impact this final chapter.
“In Steel Reign, you’ll explore new areas in locations such as the Uncanny Caverns, West Tek, AMS HQ, and more. Earn new rewards such as Face Breaker Power Fist, Mercenary Outfit, Brotherhood Civilians, Cryo Bed, and Hellcat Power Armor. You will also see new and familiar faces as you travel.
Here are some of the other details on what’s coming to Fallout 76 in July:
- Legendary Hearts – Craft all-new Legendary gear, from power armor to weapons using Legendary Hearts
- Power Armor Displays – Show off your favorite Power Armor skins to anyone who visits your CAMP
- Power Armor Skins – Give the MIND collective and sport a unified look with the new Power Armor paints.
- Weapon Skins – Melt enemies with the Valorous Alistair Gatling Plasma skin or slash them with Alistair’s sword.
- CAMP Objects – No more washing your clothes in the river, claim the washer and dryer set for your humble abode.
