If you’re an avid Formula 1 gamer, chances are you already own F1 22, the latest iteration of Codemasters’ racing simulator. However, for those still curious to try the game, it will soon be free to play for a few days.
Starting tomorrow, October 20, until October 24, the game will enter a free trial period, during which you can download and play the game for free. This coincides with the United States Grand Prix in the real life on the Austin Circuit of the Americas, or COTA for short. To celebrate, American-themed in-game items will also be available for free.
The video above promotes the free period, but it’s also a fun watch – McLaren driver Daniel Ricciardo jumps into the game to provide some tips and advice for getting around the US circuit. There will also be a challenge in-game, where you can attempt to beat Ricciardo’s fastest lap. You can share your best time using the hashtags #RicciardoChallenge and #F122gameSweepstakes during the free trial weekend. If you do, you’ll be entered into a raffle with a chance to win “a virtual meet and race with Daniel Ricciardo himself”.
