DraftKings Fantasy Football Tournament Pick: NFL Week 16 Highest DFS Targets, Sleepers

Welcome to the weekly tournament article for Sunday’s main DraftKings fantasy football roster. I’m going to focus only on high potential games and stacks likely to be lightly owned in the biggest tournaments on the slate. There will be a lot of bust potential here most weeks, but big GPPs usually aren’t earned by making popular moves.

Battery

Minnesota Vikings vs. Los Angeles Rams

Kirk Cousins ($ 6,200) – Sony Michel ($ 5,500) – Justin Jefferson ($ 8,100)

It’s late in the year and we don’t have a lot of games with big totals on the slate, but one game that looks tasty for fantastic ends is the Vikings v Rams. A plus / minus 48.0 is attached here, and both teams are averaging over 25.0 points per game. Kirk Cousins might not be an elite quarterback (no matter what @reidtfowler dit), but he pops up every now and then for some decent fantastic performance and faces a Rams defense that is nearly impossible to show up against.

The Rams have allowed four passers for 300 yards this season, and teams are averaging 37.7 pass attempts per game against LA (sixth above). Cousins comes out of a few slow games – where he didn’t need to do much – so sentiment and ownership should be low. He and stud catcher Justin Jefferson have already totaled over 50.0 DKFP three times this year, and Cousins’ red zone stats – 23 TDs and zero INTs – are among the best in the league. . Some may shy away from Jefferson due to the confrontation with Jalen Ramsey, but Jefferson himself is one of the top three ranked receivers on Pro Football Focus and could hold a third of the ownership of Cooper Kupp ($ 9,100).

If you’re using Cousins rather than Stafford, the savings mean you can stack up with the two big wide decks. However, the almost certainly popular demise of the Kupp – which can even push for the most possessed player on the slate – means we can pivot to the Rams and Sony Michel’s rushing game. The Vikings have the third worst yards per carry against this season and have allowed four games of 80 yards or more and a touchdown to opposing backs. Michel took 70% of the snaps last week and averaged 5.1 yards per carry, prompting Darrell Henderson to change his pace. Expect to see more of Michel in Week 16, and against a weaker tip defense, touchdowns could easily come back and let Kupp owners hold the sack (for perhaps the first time this season ). Michel is a great pivot game if you want to stack this game, which has a lot of interesting goals for DFS in week 16.

Just missed: Joe Burrow ($ 5,900) – Ja’Marr Chase ($ 7,200) – Mark Andrews ($ 7,000)

Strategist

Justin Fields, Chicago Bears vs. Seattle Seahawks ($ 5,200)

The Seahawks have widened this year to the point where they have become one of the best games in the table for opposing attacking players. Quarterbacks have averaged 7.6 yards per attempt against Seattle in their last three games, which is the third-worst mark in the league. Justin Fields has seemed more comfortable in the pocket lately and had one of his best passing days of the year last week against Minnesota when he netted 285 yards and an average of 7, 3 yards per attempt.

Fields’ skill on deep balls is a huge added bonus as he’s already become an elite quarterback. The rookie is now averaging 56 rushing yards in his last five games and is also averaging DKFP 18.43 in his last five starts despite a 4.43 performance against the Ravens. Fields’ advantage is what we need to focus on and he’s now topped 21 DKFPs in two of his last five outings. He’s been limited to training this week (ankle) so watch for injury reports, but Fields makes a great naked option in the quarterback where his rushed prowess and cheap salary provide great flexibility in building the team. listing.

Just missed: Lamar Jackson ($ 6,900)

To recover

Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Kansas City Chiefs vs. Pittsburgh Steelers ($ 5,800)

The Chiefs’ locker room was hit by a COVID-19 crisis this week and it left questionable labels on tastes Travis Kelce ($ 7,300) and Tyreek Hill ($ 8,400). Even if these two do end up playing, the game and lack of training for the team’s best passing options should make this a higher volume spot for Clyde Edwards-Helaire. The Chiefs running back has lost a few snaps to Darrell Williams lately, but he’s still made multiple receptions in each of his last four games, while finding the end zone three times in the same span. .

The confrontation is in favor of Edwards-Helaire. The Chiefs face a Steelers defense that features a touted pass rush but is terrible in defending against the run. Pittsburgh has allowed 4.9 yards per carry (the worst in the league) and 5.3 yards per game in its last three games. The Chiefs should look to establish the run this week and neutralize the Steelers’ best element, which is their pass rush. With COVID issues affecting the Chiefs’ top receivers, look for Edwards-Helaire to erupt in Week 16 in what is sure to be a juicy, fantastic clash with Pittsburgh.

Just Missed: D’Andre Swift ($ 6,300)

Wide receiver

Tyler Lockett, Seattle Seahawks vs. Chicago Bears ($ 6,700)

Much like Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay, Tyler Lockett and Russell Wilson work much better together than apart. The Seahawks’ open sea is back this week (reserve roster / COVID-19) and it’s just in time for a perfect matchup against a failing Chicago secondary. The Bears’ young defensive backs have been outmatched all season and allowed the most touchdowns as wide receiver.

Lockett comes into this game averaging 17.5 yards per catch in his last two starts and will almost certainly get the bulk of the targets in this game – DK Metcalf has been inexplicably ineffective since Russell Wilson returned to the position of quarterback. Lockett doesn’t plan to have high ownership just yet, but has averaged DKFP 25.0 over his last two starts and faces a Bears defense who enjoys handing out big games to the best opposing players. Lockett is a very important GPP target in week 16.

Just missed: DJ Moore ($ 5,700)

Tight end

Dallas Goedert, Philadelphia Eagles vs. New York Giants ($ 5,100)

There has been a clear change in Goedert’s use over his last two starts. The tight end has seen a team-high 15 targets in his last two games (leading the team by six in that span). The Eagles don’t pass the ball a ton, but they don’t have any dominant spreads either, which makes Goedert’s post-capture ability something they should continue to exploit. The tight end, who just signed a new deal with Philly last week, is averaging 18.0 yards per catch in his last two games and faces a Giants team that allowed the fourth most receptions at the close position this season.

The only fear with Goedert is that the Eagles won’t have to spend a lot to win this game. However, with the efficiency Jalen hurts ($ 6,400) and Goedert have been late, I’d be looking for another big game from them here, before it’s all said and done. Goedert is a great paying option for Week 16, and a player who finally seems to be an elite passer by catching the tight end.

Just missed: Zach Gentry ($ 2,800)

Defense / Special teams

Cincinnati Bengals ($ 2,800) vs. Baltimore Ravens

The Bengals arrive in Week 16 with the smallest lead in AFC North and as a -3.5 home favorites on the DraftKings Sportsbook. Cincinnati easily handled the Ravens on the road in their first meeting and now face a Ravens team decimated by injury issues on both sides of the ball. Lamar Jackson ($ 6,900; ankle) can start in this game but it could be good news for this DST unit, as a save Tyler Huntly ($ 6,000) has been more effective as a passer in his last two starts than Lamar has been all season.

If Jackson can’t execute the ball with his usual ferocity, then the Bengals’ defense could really get away with it here. They come into this game with one of the best assists in the league (averaging 3.8 sacks in their last four games). The respect most DFS players have for Jackson means the DST Bengals are unlikely to be around much. However, Jackson has only thrown five touchdowns and completed 60% of his passes on the road this year, and if he plays he won’t be 100% for this game. Watch the Bengals DST for less than 3000 play in week 16 which has plenty of benefits.

Just missed: Bronco ($ 2,800)
