Copa Libertadores Flamengo vs Palmeiras final: preview, schedule, TV and how to watch online

Palmeiras and Flamengo meet this Saturday for what will be the fifth final of the Copa Libertadores, which will see two teams from the same country face off. The Sao Paulo side will try to be the first to win the Copa in a row since Boca Juniors did it 20 years ago.

In retrospect, El Centenario is home to Flamengo’s very first Copa Libertadores victory in 1981. The team was then led by Brazilian legend Zico. This time around, the team will rely on Gabriel Barbosa, Gabigol to make the team triumph.

The two teams have only won the tournament twice, and whoever wins this time around will join an elite club of just ten teams that have won the Copa Libertadores more than twice; São Paulo, Santos and Grêmio from Brazil.

Flamengo won the South American Copa Libertadores in 2019 before Palmeiras got their hands on the trophy, thanks to Breno Lopes winning 99th minute last year. This will be the first final with the two previous winners of the back-to-back competition.
